- August 2025 Meetings
The Delta Plan Interagency Implementation Committee's Restoration Subcommittee, the Delta Independent Science Board, and the Delta Stewardship Council will hold the following public meetings this month. Meeting notices detailing agendas, public comment opportunities, logistics, and more will be posted on our events web page 10 days prior to the meeting. Revised notices will be issued if changes arise.
- Delta Independent Science Board and California Sea Grant Seek Postdoctoral Scholar
The Delta Independent Science Board and California Sea Grant are seeking a postdoctoral scholar to support the Board’s ongoing activities. The postdoctoral scholar, employed by the University of California, San Diego, will work directly with the Delta ISB to achieve its goals and responsibilities of providing reviews of the science supporting adaptive management in the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta. The Board is currently conducting reviews on critical topics important to management, including contaminants monitoring and decision-making under deep uncertainty.

The Delta Independent Science Board will meet virtually on August 13, 2025, at 9:00 AM to discuss its reviews and activities, including its reviews on decision-making under deep uncertainty and contaminant monitoring, and the upcoming climate research symposium.
The Coequal Goals
The Delta Stewardship Council was created in legislation to achieve the state mandated coequal goals for the Delta. "'Coequal goals' means the two goals of providing a more reliable water supply for California and protecting, restoring, and enhancing the Delta ecosystem. The coequal goals shall be achieved in a manner that protects and enhances the unique cultural, recreational, natural resource, and agricultural values of the Delta as an evolving place." (CA Water Code Section 85054)
