- Reminder of Due Date Extension: Draft Review of Subsidence in the Delta
As a reminder, the Delta Independent Science Board is seeking input from the public on its draft review, “Science to Inform Management of Subsided Lands in the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta.” This report summarizes key findings and recommendations developed by the Delta ISB on the science needed for improving the management of subsided lands in the Delta. The findings and recommendations are based on reflections from a workshop hosted in October 2023, interviews with subject matter experts, and a limited review of relevant literature. The review is intended to serve a diverse audience that includes Delta managers, researchers, legislators, decision-makers from local, state, and federal agencies, and other interested parties.

The Coequal Goals
The Delta Stewardship Council was created in legislation to achieve the state mandated coequal goals for the Delta. "'Coequal goals' means the two goals of providing a more reliable water supply for California and protecting, restoring, and enhancing the Delta ecosystem. The coequal goals shall be achieved in a manner that protects and enhances the unique cultural, recreational, natural resource, and agricultural values of the Delta as an evolving place." (CA Water Code Section 85054)
