12th Biennial Bay-Delta Science Conference
About the Conference
- Dates: Sept. 30 - Oct. 2, 2024
- Location: In person at the SAFE Credit Union Convention Center in Sacramento, CA
- Schedule: TBA
The biennial Bay-Delta Science Conference is jointly sponsored by the Delta Stewardship Council (Council) and U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) as a forum for presenting and discussing scientific analyses and results relevant to the management of the San Francisco Bay and Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta. The goal of the conference is to provide new information and syntheses to the broad community of scientists, engineers, resource managers, and others working on or interested in Bay-Delta issues. Whether you’re an environmental scientist, manager, engineer, student, policymaker, reporter, or advocate, the Bay-Delta Science Conference provides the space to bring these groups together. This is important for building networking opportunities, learning, and collaborations for the Bay-Delta community.
The 2024 conference program will feature a range of topics relevant to the Bay-Delta science, management, and decision-making community with the theme of “Cultivating Connections for a Dynamically Changing Environment.” Just as cultivation can nurture the development of a sapling into a tree and the growth of many trees into a resilient forest, connection and cultivation will magnify our positive impact as practitioners, inhabitants, and stewards of the Bay-Delta facing the multiple challenges inherent in rapid change. Embracing connections across ways of knowing, disciplines, and geographies will be the key to fruitful adaptation.
