Delta Stewardship Council October 12, 2015 Delta Levees Investment Strategy - Council Work Session
The Delta Stewardship Council will be holding a public meeting on the Delta Levees Investment Strategy.

The purpose of this meeting is to demonstrate the draft decision-support tool that is part of the Delta Levees Investment Strategy project. This demonstration will focus on information contained in the tool related to the protection of people, property and the coequal goals and a preliminary risk analysis of the Delta’s islands and tracts. The tool’s risk analysis incorporates the probability of levee failure by island and the consequences of these failures in terms of lives lost, property damaged, water supply disruption, habitat change and Delta as a Place elements.
In addition, Council staff will discuss the next steps in development of a decision-support tool including the use of conceptual investments to reduce risk and the cost-effectiveness of these investments.

The Delta Stewardship Council was created in legislation to achieve the state mandated coequal goals for the Delta. "'Coequal goals' means the two goals of providing a more reliable water supply for California and protecting, restoring, and enhancing the Delta ecosystem. The coequal goals shall be achieved in a manner that protects and enhances the unique cultural, recreational, natural resource, and agricultural values of the Delta as an evolving place." (CA Water Code §85054)
